On Friday, April 14, 2023, a group under the banner “Nimba for Weah 2023” assembled a significant number of citizens of Nimba County at the Paynesville City Hall to rally financial support for the re-election of President Weah on October 10, 2023.

The rally, which marked the initial launch of the organisation “Nimba for Weah 2023”, displayed the people’s massive support for the president, as they generated thousands of Liberian dollars and United States dollars as a way of supporting the team.

Providing an overview, the chairperson of the group, Shadrach G. Thomas-Dokie, narrated that the decision to rally such support for President Weah’s re-election was driven by the tremendous development the president has given Nimba.

“We are here to put our dollars together to be able to reach every village to ensure the good message of President Weah reaches every segment of Nimba and be able to give President Weah a one-round victory.”

“We are not doing this because we love President Weah, but because we love Nimba.

“No president has done what this president has done for Nimba County in just six years.”

He intimated that the Nimba for Weah 2023 is the conglomeration of various political parties rallying support for President Weah’s reelection and not only the parties within the CDC.

He provided that the county’s effort to rally support for president Weah’s re-election is to show gratitude to president Weah for the tremendous development he has done in the county.

The chair counted the pavement on the roads and the economic and social development the president provided to the county as tangible reasons the county should vote for Weah’s reelection.

Meanwhile, he revealed that the rally for the re-election of President Weah is to ensure greater opportunities for Nimba during the second term of the Weah presidency.

He lauded the president for all the provisions the county has received during the first six years of the Weah presidency.

At the same time, the vice chairperson for media and communications Daintowon Domah pay_payer Bayee, called on Nimbian to open their eyes and see the many development and empowerment opportunities Nimba as a county has received over the last six years of the Weah’s first term of presidency.

She pleaded with Nimbians and asserted that when President Weah is re-elected, there will be greater doors open to Nimba County that will bring about the empowerment of every Nimbian, irrespective of where he or she is.

Meanwhile, she concluded by stating that the group “Nimba for Weah” is not only to ensure the re-election of President Weah but also to rally support for all people who have an origin from Nimba and are contesting for elected seats across the fifteen political subdivisions of Liberia.
