On Saturday, July 23, 2022, the Liberia Crusaders for Peace and the National Traditional Council of Liberia honored the Minister of Tolerance of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, as well as Madam Svenja Walberg of Germany, among other guests of the Golden Image Award from Morocco and the United States of America for their humanitarian services to Liberia, Africa, and the world. These individuals were recognized for their contributions to Liberia, Africa, and the world.
At the offices of the Crusaders for Peace was where the honoring event that was held in commemoration of Liberia’s 175th Independence and 200 Bicentennial festivities. The theme of the function was “Promoting Pan Africanism Leadership,” and it was held in conjunction with the celebrations.
The Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Golden Image Award bestowed upon His Excellency Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan the title of Chief Sheikh Flomo T Barwollor Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan for being instrumental in the expo-Dubai 2020, the kind gesture of the government of the UAE towards Liberia, the construction of the pavilion, as well as the peace, love, and vision of the people of the United Arab Emirates. He was awarded the Global Legendary Leadership
The award was received on behalf of His Excellency by the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahaya, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, expressed gratitude to the secretariat of the Golden Image Award and the Government of Liberia for the preferment bestowed upon Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahaya, the Minister of Tolerance for the United Arab Emirates, and for the levels of hospitality shown them since their arrival in Liberia.
The Ambassador of the UAE continued by stating that he would offer an onward presentation of the GIA award on behalf of Liberia and would also provide an onward transmission of the good tidings of Liberia to the Minister.
At the same time, Madam Svenja Walberg, who hails from Germany, was recognized and presented with the ‘Worldwide Humanitarian Icon Award’ of the Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf Golden Image Award in recognition of her efforts to the empowerment of women and girls throughout Liberia. It was decided that she should hold the position of chief, and they gave her the title of Chief Gormau Svenja Walber Ghongarnu.
After being presented with the award, Madam Walberg expressed her gratitude to the GIA committee as well as the government of Liberia for the distinction that was bestowed upon her.
She continued by assuring the audience that she will fulfill the requirements of the award.
Meanwhile, Tina Weisinger, the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HAPA Wards and Executive Director of the I Dream ALL Foundation, Emma Washington, the Co-founder of the HAPAAWARDS, and an American artist known as SCAN (saving children across nations) were all honored and appreciated for their humanitarian services in Liberia and Africa.
Ambassador Julie Endee, who holds the title of Traditional Queen of Liberia, addressed those in attendance on behalf of the National Traditional Council and charged them to represent Liberia in the best interest possible. She also urged those in attendance to invest in the rich culture and tourism sector of Liberia.
